The videos gave a very informative and a very insightful documentation about recycling and materials can be reused in other products and processes instead of simply being disposed of. The videos go into great detail into how many materials which are disposed of are reused with as little wastage as possible. in most instances excess material is sent back to the manufacturer, to be reshaped or recombined with other recycled waste to reproduce other products. The " giving packaging a new life" videos also present many of the same ideas and issues. they cover many of the same materials, just different processes.
The first video is focused on cardboard. The video explains to us that through its corrugated structure providing strength gives cardboard many different uses and purposes. it enlightens us about the many different ways cardboard can be cut and shaped. The video also shows us that water based ink is ideal for printing as it dries instantly. The packing videos emphasise on adding several other raw materials to the process to increase the quality of the paper.
The second video is focused of aluminium sheets and its uses especially in forming cylindrical shapes, due to its affordability, lightweight and its ability to be recycled. We are able to make tubes and cans simply using rollers to press and heat. The packing videos refer to how products are reused and rehashed to be used by other companies for different products.
The third video focuses on a leak proof container which is made of plastic, paperboard and foil. the beauty of this product is that it can be entirely recycled int paper towels of toilet paper.
The forth video focuses on using raw materials that are bountiful and are easily recycled. some of the materials incluse glass, limestone and soda ash.
The last video focuses on the recycling of PET. Due to hygiene reasons only left over plastics from the manufacturing process may be recycled. PET pellets and recycled Pet are combined together and heated until they become malleable enough to shape into the desired form.
The videos prove to be very informative and insightful into the way recycled product can be reused and remade into a completely new product. these extra steps taken by companies to recycle products ensures that we are on a path to creating a sustainable future for generations to come.
